Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, inspires us in many ways! He has become a great businessman in spite of himself, combining his passion for outdoor sports with his deep respect for man and nature. Not being satisfied with climbing equipment at the time, he started by developing his own equipment for himself and his climbing friends. He quickly became the leading manufacturer of climbing equipment in the United States. He soon realized the negative impact of his steel pitons on nature and on the visual experience of the climbers that followed him, because these pitons were not removed from the rock. He therefore decided to cease production of these pitons, even though they accounted for 70% of the total production...
