After our years of experience in the ready-to-wear to visit garment workshops, we were very surprised to see that here each craftsman assembles himself all the pieces of a jacket from A to Z, and not a part of the jacket.
It takes a craftsman a day to fully assemble this type of jacket. We were lucky enough to see that smile of satisfaction on the faces of Mr. Komal and Mr. Najar at the end of the day when they finished the jacket with a last stitch on the inside of the sleeve.
The jacket is assembled from the inside of the lining. Once everything is sewn, the craftsman turns the jacket over completely through a hole left in one of the sleeves. Once turned over and the hole sewn, the jacket is finished! It's easier said than done ;)
We were also able to see the sense of pride of the whole team who worked on our prototypes and who followed the evolution of the assembly of the jacket!
Mr. Rama selects and assembles batches of 7 skins according to their shades to ensure harmony on each jacket.
Mr. Irshad makes sure that the pattern yokes are the right size.
Mr. Amarnath is a Scissorman! He cuts the different yokes from the skins with precision.
Mr. Shamshudin and Mr. Santosh carefully choose the position of the yokes on the jacket (left, finger, top or bottom) according to the direction of the skin's "hair".
Mr. haresh reinforces the leather before sewing by gluing a light silk fabric.
Mr. Komal is fully assembling Robert's jacket.
Mr. Najar is fully assembling the Steve jacket.
Mr. ziya, the person with the most experience in the workshop, supervises the whole process and brings his technical know-how on how to note a more complex yoke.
Mrs. Dubey oversees the entire project and ensures that all our requests are met.
