Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, inspires us in many ways!
He became a great businessman in spite of himself, combining his passion for out door sports with his deep respect for man and nature.
Not being satisfied with the climbing equipment at the time, he started by developing his own equipment for himself and his climbing friends. He quickly became the leading manufacturer of climbing equipment in the United States.

He soon realized the negative impact of his steel pitons on nature and on the visual experience of the climbers who succeeded him, because these pitons were not removed from the rock. He therefore decided to cease production even though it represented 70% of his income.
He made the most of the situation by creating new products and a new "clean climbing" style.
There are many great stories to be told about Yvon Chouinard, how he revolutionized the business world by always putting people and their environment at the centre.
He explains all this very well in one of his books, which is our bible: Businessman in spite of myself: Confessions of an alter-entrepreneur
