August has just begun, you’re still tanned, evening outings on the terrace are still the order of the day, and we fully intend to make it last as long as possible. But what’s in style during the July–August heat wave isn’t necessarily what you’ll want to wear in September: make way for fabrics that offer a bit more coverage, oversized cuts, and washed-out hues that really bring out a tan you’ve worked on all summer.
Good news: Several forlife pre-orders are scheduled to arrive at different times between August and November, just in time to help make this transition as smooth as possible. Let's take a look.
This week: Elvis, the jeans that never leave your legs

Let's start with the immediate good news: Elvis, the V2 jeans, is arriving as early as next week. Made from 100% organic cotton Candiani denim, 13 oz. weight, and crafted by Lamosa in Portugal—this is the piece that will take you from your last summer outings all the way through fall, without a break. If you’ve pre-ordered them, make sure to save a special spot for them in your closet—they won’t be there for long.
September 1: The jersey that covers the entire transition

All the jersey items in the current pre-order—T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies—are scheduled to ship around September 1. It’s the perfect time for those days when the mornings are still cool but the afternoons still feel like July:
- Max, the oversized T-shirt — it’s time to break it out again, especially in its washed shades (faded red, faded purple, faded black), which really show off a tan that’s still going strong.
- Matt, the long-sleeve T-shirt — the perfect piece for in-between seasons, to wear on its own as long as the weather is nice.
- Alex, the Trucker Sweatshirt and Paul / Paul Washed, the sweatshirt — for evenings when it starts to get chilly.
- Brandon, the zip-up hoodie — the one you can zip up or down depending on the time of day.
Early November: Shirts for when Indian summer is truly over

A little further down the schedule, Hugh, the brushed shirt, and Mel, the super-soft shirt, will arrive in early November. Two warmer, more textured fabrics, designed for when we finally swap outdoor patios for indoor spaces—but you can pre-order them now to get the best price.
Three delivery waves, three different stages of the summer transition—and each time, exactly what you need to stay well-dressed without having to buy everything all at once in September.
