This period has been a real earthquake for a young brand like forlife, but above all it has been an opportune moment to step back and take stock of our adventure so far. We share our thoughts with you.

In 2018, we launched forlife with a lot of utopia but above all with one idea in mind:
make iconic and responsible products without overproduction.

And when we look back, we can say that quite a lot has happened since the launch of our first leather sale in 2018!

2 years ago, J-F our partner in India came to our office and introduced us to his workshop specialized in leather where each craftsman makes the piece from A to Z. We were seduced by the approach, but above all as entrepreneurs we thought that in the trade we should sell this at a very high price, that we would end up selling it as a special offer so that in the end it would totally devalue the craftsman's work. So we decided to launch our pre-order leather sale on Kickstarter and you were over 500 to order: forlife was born!

We've got to face it, We also kind of screwed up : last December, we offered you our Jackie cashmere scarves. The product was hot: a 100% recycled cashmere scarf made in Tuscany, we thought it would be a hit! And to ensure a delivery for Christmas, we decided to waive the pre-order and order from stock. But it was a flop, and we found ourselves with stocks under our arms. After this good comeback, we are more than ever convinced that our pre-order model is the right one, and that it is healthy.

But above all, today more than ever, we want to make products we are proud of. Pieces that you will wear season after season, clothes that respect people and the planet.

After 7 years in fashion, we are convinced of one thing: we have to put an end to overproduction. We've been through the vicious circle of stocks, unsold items, promos and waste, and we told ourselves that we didn't want to tell our children this story. Our mission at forlife is to produce as close as possible by only producing what you order. That's why we don't do sales, why you have to wait 2 months or sometimes even more to receive your order! But I promise, your patience is rewarded.

Every year, 600 000 tons of clothes are thrown away in France. We are not very proud to say that we are part of the second most polluting industry in the world, but we want to change things. At forlife, we have set ourselves the goal of making products for life, parts that will accompany you over the years and that you will pass on to your brothers, your cousins, your son ...

We also choose to use a maximum of responsible and natural materials to limit our footprint. For example, we prefer organic cotton for our PAUL sweaters, Ralph shirts and MARLON t-shirts. Moreover, for ever more transparency, we allow ourselves to share with you the GOTS certificates which attest that our factory uses organic cotton.

It is also important for us to tell you about the people behind your clothes, because behind each of your pieces there is a name, a face, and hands. Our experience in fashion has allowed us to build relationships of trust with our partner workshops, to ensure that they share the same human values and commitments as we do: to respect people as well as the planet.

Because having quality and responsible clothing should not be a luxury, we produce without intermediaries and in pre-order to offer you the fairest price. We detail our prices for each product with complete transparency, and we keep a healthy margin that allows us to invest and grow our brand!
