The Crew T-shirt: Not for Sale, but Full of Stories

At forlife, we’ve always been obsessed with one idea: creating timeless, well-made basics produced responsibly. No giant logos, no gimmicks. Just the essentials: beautiful fabric, a flattering fit, and a garment you’ll keep for years.

So, naturally, the Crew T-shirt didn't really fit into that framework.

When we hesitated to show it

We remember very well the moment we received the first prototypes.
A T-shirt with a large “forlife crew” print on the back .
On the chest, a woven label that read: “forlife, sustainable basics since 2018.”
And in the lower left corner, a special tag: “member of the forlife family, with a space to write the recipient’s first name using a fabric pen.

On paper, it looked great. But we weren’t entirely comfortable with it.
We looked at each other and said:
👉 “Aren’t we betraying our vision of logo-free basics?”
👉 “Isn’t this too far removed from our DNA?”

In short, we had our doubts.

The Test: Just a Teaser

Rather than deciding on our own, we chose to reveal it quietly, just in a teaser.
Not for sale, not in a newsletter. Just a brief appearance.

And then we were blown away by the response.
Within a few hours, we were flooded with messages:

  • “When is this T-shirt coming out?”

  • “Where can I order it?”

  • “I love it—I absolutely have to have one!”

We thought we were way off the mark, but we realized we’d hit on something essential:
the need to belong, the desire to proudly showcase the values that Forlife embodies.

A symbol of the community

That was the day we realized that the Crew wasn't just a piece of clothing.
It was a symbol.

A rallying cry for those who believe we can consume differently, who want to support a brand that does things differently.

Above all, it was a way of saying: “I’m part of the Forlife family.”

A rare item

To date, only about ten people own this T-shirt.
Friends and family, loyal customers, brand ambassadors. People who, from day one, have supported us, shared their feedback, and sent us their photos.

We’d love to be able to offer it to all our customers. But the reality is this: just like our Marlon T-shirts, the Crew is made entirely in Portugal from 100% organic cotton. And producing this kind of garment is expensive, especially when we’re not selling it.

So for now, it’s a rare item—almost a privilege—that’s being distributed sparingly.

Between Dream and Reality

We often talk about this among ourselves: in an ideal world, everyone who buys a Forlife product would receive a Crew T-shirt as a gift. Because this T-shirt is more than just a piece of clothing—it’s a connection between us and you.

But we’re a small brand, and economic realities quickly bring us back down to earth.
So we save it for special occasions:

  • a contest,

  • a gift from an ambassador,

  • A surprise for a loyal customer.

Every time, we take the time to write their first name by hand. Because here, there are no anonymous customers: there are only members of the forlife family.

A Shared Sense of Pride

What strikes us most isn't the design or the print.
It's the pride we feel when we see someone wearing this T-shirt.

We’re proud to see that our name, written in large letters, isn’t associated with empty marketing claims, but with real values: sustainability, transparency, and honesty.

The Crew, when it comes down to it, taught us something important:
You can be proud to wear Forlife—not to show off a brand, but to show what it stands for.
