Three things stand out from your answers:
1/ Quality and style above all
Responsible clothing, yes, but without compromising on quality and style! That's what comes out of the answers for the ¾ of you. At forlife. we're on a mission to make iconic products that are built to last. Pieces that will accompany you over the years and that you will pass on to your brothers, your cousins, your son?
And of course sustainable and responsible go hand in hand: making products that last over time is a guarantee that we will not encourage over-consumption and over-production. With our style team, we take the time to develop products until we reach the perfect prototype, without compromising on quality. Your comments on our products are always valuable to us in order to continually improve!
2/ People and responsible matters
What seems most important to you in terms of sustainable development is the ethical dimension and the materials used. This is also the case for us! Our 15 years of experience have enabled us to build relationships of trust with our partner workshops (which you will find on our factory page), to ensure that they share the same human values and commitments as we do. We visit them once a year (except for COVID! :)) and we are committed to sharing their stories with you and to introducing you to the people behind your clothes!
Today, we choose to use a maximum of responsible and natural materials to limit our footprint. For example, we use organic cotton for our PAUL sweaters, Ralph shirts and MARLON t-shirts; and we are thinking about using it on our other products. We also aim for 100% traceability! Your answers confirm us in this direction.
3/ Without overproduction?
Although the dimension "without overproduction" only comes in 4th position in the questionnaire, we remain convinced that pre-ordering is the solution to the vicious circle of stocks, unsold items, promotions and therefore waste! It's by producing as little as possible (only what you order) that we reduce our impact on the planet the most.
One last point on French manufacturing which seems to be important for you: by experience, the workshops we work with are workshops we have known for a long time and with whom we have established a relationship of trust. The major part of our production is now less than 1700 kms away in Portugal but we are working on bringing our production closer together!
