Bruce, the worker jacket

If there was one piece that was missing from the forlife wardrobe, it was a timeless, four-season jacket like the worker jacket. And yet, we've been working on it for a while with our agent Nuno! So we are very proud to present Bruce: 3 patch pockets, a thick and resistant cotton twill, and its iconic shirt collar. All the ingredients of the worker jacket are there! With of course the little forlife touch that makes the difference ;) We let you discover it in details👇

From the factory to your dressing room: almost 300 years of history

If the work jacket is so iconic today, it is above all because of its history. Initially workwear, it gradually appeared during the industrial revolution, at the same time as the machines in the workshops and factories. Workers appreciated its straight and simple cut. Its thick and durable fabric adapts to temperatures, avoiding cuts and scratches. In the mid-19th century, the worker's jacket became popular, and was adopted by painters, sailors, railwaymen and postmen.

After being abandoned by workers in the 1970s, it left its main use and entered popular culture. The worker jacket was taken up by students in May 1968 before appearing on the catwalks of haute couture, thus becoming a timeless garment.

3 front patch pockets, a thick and resistant cotton twill, and its iconic shirt collar: all the ingredients of the worker jacket are there! With of course the forlife touch that makes the difference ;)

We chose a thick and resistant cotton twill of 395 gr/m2 for a perfect fit. It's warm, but not too warm! Our Bruce jackets are pre-washed at 90°C to avoid shrinkage and to ensure that the colour stays put.

Our product team has thought of all the details of Bruce, so that your worker jacket will be with you every day. Its 3 patch pockets are practical and allow you to keep everything within reach. The little extra: the pen slot in the chest pocket! We have also integrated an inside pocket with button to keep your phone or keys safe 👌

As with any self-respecting work jacket, we chose a button fastening - ours are made of bio-resin, a material partly made from plant waste, which is more resistant than plastic!

The perfect fit:

A straight cut, neither too wide nor too tight to be worn in all seasons and on all occasions. In winter over a thick jumper or in summer over a t-shirt, it is a piece that adapts to all body types and that you can easily combine with your outfits. Ladies, this is a unisex garment that will look just as good on you as on your man ;)

5 colours :

We have chosen to revisit this iconic design in 5 strong colours: navy blue, khaki, sand, cream and brick! The hardest part will be choosing.

No overproduction and always at the right price!

Our Bruce jackets are woven in Spain at Santanderina, an OEKO-TEX certified Spanish workshop, and made at Cortextil, our Portuguese partner workshop. They will be produced just for you on pre-order and at the fair price of 95 euros!
